The Driving Force Of Success  Success

Leadership has less to do with position and more to do with disposition.  The way people see others and the issues they work on is a huge factor in their overall success.

The Carnegie institute analyzed the personnel records of 10,000 employees and after careful analysis they came to the conclusion that success at work is due only 15% to technical expertise and a whopping 85% to Personality of that 85% the key trait is attitude.

How does your attitude affect those you lead?

What would you need to change about your attitude to become a really great leader?

Does your attitude bring out the best in everybody you work with?

The center for creative leadership in Greenbro, North Carolina went one step further to try to understand what attitudes engendered success in the most successful executives.  They studied 105 highly successful executives as found:

- The admitted their mistakes & accepted the consequences rather than trying to blame others

- The got along with a wide variety of people

- They had strong interpersonal skills, were sensitive to others and had tact.

- They were calm and confident rather than moody & volatile.

When looking at those who were less successful they found that:

- They were insensitive to others

- Too tough on others

- They didn't try to get along with others, were abusive, sarcastic & aloof.

- They were unpredictable in their attitudes.

What is stopping you from being a great leader?

Who would you have to be in order to be more successful?

How would the people you work with rate your attitude?

"I never cease to be amazed at the power of the coaching process to draw out the skills or talent that was previously hidden within an individual, and which invariably finds a way to solve a problem previously thought unsolvable,"

John Russell, Managing Director, Harley-Davidson Europe Ltd.

"It is not enough to do our best: sometimes we have to do what is required"

Winston Churchill
